Get ready to experience a true gem of the Saxon heritage: the Viscri Fortified Church. This has been included in the UNESCO world heritage. Many of the houses of the Viscri village are still well preserved by the villagers. Even Prince Charles has bought a house here which became a lovely guesthouse. The administrator is Romanian, but of course, they welcome people from all over the world.

All the rest of the houses in Viscri have been lovingly restored, and keep the unique pale blue color. Sometimes you may see residents working on some type of archaic structure that still help them in farming. The villagers are also talented and provide all sorts of knitted goods: from hats and sweaters, to socks and scarves. Mighty and tall, the Viscri Fortified Church watches over the village with it’s impressive and massive defense walls.
