Come and visit the one of the most beautiful Gothic monuments in Romania. The Black Church also has the biggest organ in the country and the largest collection of Oriental carpets outside Turkey. The Church is part of the evangelical congregation of Augustan Confession in Brasov.

Its six-ton bell is the largest in all of Romania. If you’re visiting Brasov, you can’t miss the mighty Black Church. Did you know that it’s name derives from the damage in the Great Fire in 1698? The Great Fire destroyed large parts of the town. Also, it blackened the church’s wall. In conclusion, the name became official in the 20th Century.
